August 25, 2020, Dr. Bodin Kasemset, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Craft Technology PLC. (SIC) and Dr. Nattanan Tadpitakkul, Research Team Leader of National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) are the representatives for delivering the prototype of NFC wristbands developed by SIC 300 pieces to Doctor Suwanchai Wattana-Yingcharoenchai, Director-General of the Department of Disease Control (DDC). These wristbands will be used to test and develop for tracking the COVID-19’s Patient Under Investigation (PUI) and the people who are in the self-quarantine process. Also, SIC collaborates with NSTDA and DDC in developing the tool and application (DDC care) to its application by interfacing with the app for exchanging the information between the device and its software. This anti-tear wristband, in conjunction with NFC phone, aims to control and prevent the spreading and infecting of COVID-19 in Thailand.
Firstly, DDC will test the wristband with their staffs, then evaluate the testing result again with SIC and NSDTA to develop it to be more efficient. After that, DDC will deliver the wristband to the related organizations for using to control the COVID-19 later.
